My laptop only shows 1080p?

Likely due to HDMl 1.4 limit. Use UsB-C(DP Alt) or USB-C→DP cable.

Why can’t my console output2.5K?

Consoles have no 1600p mode. PS5/Xbox support 1440p, Switch only 1080p (scaled by monitor).

My MacBook shows only 1080p?

Use USB-C→DP or USB-C→USB-C (DP Alt). In macOS, enable “Show all resolutions” and select 2560×1600.
