Product description

Monitor Your Home’s Energy Use in Real Time, from Anywhere

Usage
Track usage over time. Set goals and monitor your progress through the month to make sure you stay on track.

Dashboard
See your energy usage month-to-date and what you’re trending towards.

Always On
Identify sources of energy waste. Find energy hogs, identify vampire loads, and see how much they’re costing you.

Real-Time Readings
The Power Meter tells you exactly how much electricity you’re using right now, with wattage steps up and down when devices turn on and off.

Installation
Installing Sense is a straightforward process that generally takes a licensed electrician less than 30 minutes to complete. Two sensors clip around the service mains that connect your electrical panel to the grid.

Monitor Two Circuits Directly
In addition to Sense’s machine learning device detection and smart plug integrations, you can monitor up to two 120V or 240V circuits directly with dedicated circuit monitoring. Using optional locking Flex add-on sensors, it’s perfect for large loads and critical devices like your HVAC system, EV charger, or variable speed pool pump.

Is My Electric Panel Compatible?
Standard Single Electric Panel Homes
The Sense Home Energy Monitor is compatible with homes that have a single main split-phase 120/240V residential electrical panel in North America for up to 200A service, with or without sub-panels. In most cases it should also be possible to install Sense in recessed or flush-mounted panels.
Sense is not designed for installation on parallel feed or three-phase panel configurations.
Larger Homes with 2 Main Panels
Sense can work with homes that have a maximum of two 200A main electric panels, provided there is no solar on the home. This feature requires the purchase of a Sense Flex or Solar model. Data from both panels will be combined in the Sense app. You may need to purchase extension cables for the 2nd set of sensors to support installation across both panels.
Combination Service Entrance Device (CSED) Panels
This is the type of panel where the electrical meter and the breaker panel share the same enclosure. These types of panels often have short cables or metal bus bars for the main feed where the Sense sensors need to connect to. This configuration will only work as long as there is enough space for the current sensors to clamp around the main feed.
Please refer to the Space Requirements in the Monitor Compatibility and Specs section below and consult with your electrician to determine if the Sense monitor is a fit for your home.
Outdoor installations
For Sense to be installed outdoors, it must be placed inside an appropriate NEMA-rated enclosure, and adequately protected from the elements. Your home Wi-Fi signal must be available at the panel location for Sense to work.
